Testimonies

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all, the secrets of his heart are disclosed, and so, falling on his face, he will worship God and declare that God is really among you.

1 Corinthians 14:24-25

This is our hope every Sunday: That outsider are welcome and experience the life-giving beauty and presence of God.

Come make some “noise”

“Going to church can be somewhat intimidating when you have kids. The church not only has to be a good fit for you, but also your children. I’ve always heard the saying “A Quiet Church is a Dead Church” and so I wanted to find a “noisy” church that is alive and growing. Filled with people of all ages for us and our children to grow in our relationship with Christ with. People we could consider family and lean on through all seasons of life. This lead us to Compass South. God showed the way and we went. Every Sunday we are met with friendly faces and conversation. Never once made to feel like an outsider or stranger. My kids recognize worship songs on the radio now and proudly say “Mama we sang this at church!” They look forward to going every week and are sad when we have to miss. Come make some “noise” at Compass South. You can sit with us.”

“We are so excited about the new church in our hometown of SouthSide and honored to be apart of it. We would like to invite everyone to come and enjoy the fellowship as much as we do!”   Bianca Fox

Right here in our community

“When I heard that Compass was planting a church in Southside, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of it. As an elementary teacher, my mind began thinking of all the kiddos and families, that have never heard about Jesus, that live right here in our community. The unknown is scary and uncomfortable most often, but I’ve learned that Jesus doesn’t call us to live a comfortable life. He commands us to leave it all behind and follow Him. I am so excited to see how He will work in Southside and through Compass South. I want to be a disciple and make disciples. I want to go. And sometimes going means to stay. May His Name be made known all throughout Southside and continue on from there!”

A Home Church for Our Family

“My wife and I have been searching for a home church for our family. After attending one service, we knew Compass South was our home. We are so thankful to be apart of this new church. Come join us in worship to see what God can do for you! His presence is most definitely there.”

Now is the Time

“We always knew a church plant in this area was one of the reasons God called us back here after having been away for over 10 years. We have just been waiting patiently for the right doors to open. We are so excited that now is the time! God is putting together His people and we are humbled to get to be a small part in the bigger picture.”

The First time in 7 years

“For the first time in 7 years, our family spent Father’s Day in church.

I know. That’s a long time. Brady and I were both raised in church, and we’ve wanted that for our children, but we’ve struggled to find a welcoming church for our family. We’ve tried many places, and it didn’t ever seem like the right fit. For months we’d planned to try out Compass South, but we continued to put it off. One day in mid April, Brady and I decided it was time to just do it, so we got up, got the kids around and we went. We rolled in on two wheels trying to be on time. We drug the boys up the hill and into the back doors of the building, and we were greeted at those doors with smiles. Genuine smiles.

That first day of services, we got our boys from the classrooms, and they told us all about Jesus and his love. They have never seemed so interested in church. They’ve never been so excited to go to church. We’d never felt more included in a room of people we didn’t know.

If you are feeling like an outsider when you’re looking for a church, if you are feeling like your family needs a change, if you feel like God is pulling you to try somewhere new- visit Compass South. Take a leap of faith, and I am sure you won’t regret it.”
